New Year's Plan: How Will You Get Home Tonight?

Tonight is the biggest party night of the year….and in response police will have extra resources on duty.

Police say there are no excuses for drinking and driving, as there are many other options to ensure a safe ride home at the end of the night.

The city is offering free Transti rides after 10:30pm on eleven different routes.

There is also Operation Red Nose, which will have a fleet of volunteers ready to help get revellers and their vehicles home safely.

Other options include calling a cab, using a designated driver, staying overnight…or if its not too far, walking home.

Greater Sudbury Police will have festive RIDE stops set up at undisclosed locations across the city to check for impaired drivers.
