It’s back to the drawing board for Corrections workers and the government after a tentative contract agreement was rejected.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union represents 5,500 employees in provincial jails, correctional facilities, youth centres and probation and parole offices.

At a rally here in Sudbury this morning, President of O-P-S-E-U Local 617 Nathan Aubin told supporters they’re in a crisis situation.

The issues of concern to the workers include health and safety, staffing, over crowding and wages.

The three-year deal reached November 23rd was rejected by a 67% margin.
