A new $60-million sports and entertainment complex can be built in Sudbury with no net tax increase to citizens.

That’s according to True North Strong, a group proposing a 6,000 seat multi-purpose event centre off the Kingsway just over a kilometer east of Falconbridge Road.

Managing partner Andrew Dale says the centre will host 125 events a years including family shows, concerts, sports events and trade shows.

It would also be the new home of the Sudbury Wolves.

Dale says if they can get a shovel in the ground in early 2016, the centre could be open for the start of the 2018 O-H-L season.
