Red

Some Sudbury high school students are doing their part to help get the word out during HIV Awareness Week.

The girls at Maymount Academy are taking part in Access Sudbury’s “Bundle Up in Red” campaign.

The students tied 350 scarves to lamp posts and street signs throughout New Sudbury today as well as to trees in Memorial and Ball Parks.

Marymount guidance counselor Brenda Thompson says the scarves have some valuable information attached to them about needle exchanges, how to protect yourself and where to go for testing.

In total, 1,600 scarves are being distributed all this week by Access Sudbury volunteers who have also cut, knitted or crocheted all of these red scarves.
