The local Chief Medical Officer of Health is reminding residents to get their flu shots.

Dr. Penny Sutcliffe says the flu shot is the single most effective method to prevent the spread of flu.

The new nasal spray flu vaccine and new injection flu vaccine, which are made to protect against four flu viruses instead of three, will be available for children and youth aged 2 to 17 years.

They can be obtained at health care providers’ offices, local public health units and-for children aged 5 years and older-participating pharmacies.
