SaferInternet

All computers and laptops used by secondary school students in Rainbow District School Board and the Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario now have special screen savers on them.

The technology is from Greater Sudbury Police which is using the screen savers to promote health and safety messages to teens.

Constable Hally Willmott says there will also be other resources available if the students are looking for something specific.

There will also be a file folder on each computer which provides further information on how to access local services for specific issues affecting youth.

Willmott says they’ll see how the screen saver initiative goes in high schools before introducing it to younger students.
