The M-P-P that represents Manitoulin Island says the sell-off of Hydro One will hit Northern Ontario hard.

Michael Mantha, who is also the N-D-P’s critic on mining says the government fails to listen when issues are raised that effect the mining sector.

He says the mining companies expect their costs to go up tens of millions of dollars along with the potential loss of good paying jobs because of the effect sky rocketing hydro prices will have on their exploration, operations and ability to refine in Ontario.

Mantha says the mining companies are upset they haven’t been consulted.
