Nickel Belt’s M-P-P was up during question period at Queen’s Park this week demanding that the provincial government give the go ahead to make PET Scan technology available in the Northeast.

The positron emission topography scans are used in cancer and heart ailment diagnosis.

France Gelinas says it’s not right that the service isn’t available in the northeast when it wouldn’t cost Health Sciences North or the government anything.

Health Minister Eric Hoskins says they are looking into the issue, but would not commit one way or another.
