Elections Canada has been working out the math from this federal election and voter turnout is higher than it was four years ago.

In fact, it’s the highest it’s been in 22-years, since 1993.

Across the country, 17.6-million Canadians marked an X on a ballot, which is 68.5% of eligible voters.

The bump is likely attributed to advance polls during the Thanksgiving weekend.

In the Sudbury riding, voter turnout was 69%, a jump from 64% in the 2011 election.

In Nickel Belt, 67% of voters cast a ballot…an increase over 62.6% four years ago.
