A 9th grade student named Ahmed Mohamed brought a homemade clock he’d built all by himself the night before to his McArthur High School in Texas. After the 14-year-old excitedly showed a teacher his invention, he was shocked to be whisked out of class in handcuffs by cops, one of whom allegedly said, “Yup, that’s who I thought it was,” when Ahmed was pointed out and accused of making a bomb. Police then interrogated him and just yesterday decided not to press charges, although Irving Texas police chief expressed no regrets for his department’s actions, saying, “We live in an age where you can’t take things like that to school.” Ahmed’s detention attracted the attention of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Mark Zuckerberg also invited him to Facebook headquarters, praising his ingenuity and several social-media supporters came forward. President Obama himself invited Ahmed to bring his “cool clock” to the White House via Twitter.

A Russian prank caller is claiming responsibility for the phone call, where he tricked Elton John into thinking Vladimir Putin called him to discuss gay rights. The Kremlin also provided further confirmation that the Russian president did not contact the singer.  The prankster says, “He really believed he was talking to the people we said we were,” said Vladimir Krasnov also known as “Vovan”. The prankster claims Elton was very happy to hear from him when he believed he was the president, saying “Thank you, you have made my day. This day and this conversation were the most wonderful of my life.'” Poor Elton!
