Close to 200 youth across Greater Sudbury gained valuable workplace skills over the past two months thanks to a provincially funded initiative.

The YMCA Employment Services in Sudbury wrapped up the Summer Jobs For Youth program for another year, helping 188 students locally.

Brittany Williamson is an Employment Placement Consultant and says the program is fully subsidized by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services..

Summer Jobs for Youth helps 500 young workers across Ontario find employment for July and August.

Some summer students were hired on permanently by their employers, while other students will head back either to academic studies.
