Amazing Pitch For Sudbury To Be Part Of Reality Show

It was a team from the City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario Tourism and Tourism Northern Ontario who pitched to producers of the Amazing Race Canada to get the contestants to come here.

They were successful too, since all of next Wednesday’s episode takes place throughout the city.

According to Sudbury’s Manager of Tourism and Culture, Meredith Armstrong more will be revealed next week about what the contestants had to do.

She says they don’t want to reveal too many secrets because they want local residents to watch the show first.

Armstrong encourages everyone watching the reality show to use the hashtag #AmazingRaceSudbury on social media.

She says part of the reason behind the pitch was to show many outsiders what Sudbury is like and what it has to offer.

One of the team’s biggest hopes is to change some preconceived ideas outsiders may have about our city.

Armstrong feels the national coverage will help increase tourism over the next few years.
