Blue Green Algae blooms have been found in both Lake Panache and Murdock River.

The Sudbury & District Health Unit says water samples taken from the two waterways both came back positive for the toxic bacteria.

Lake Panache is southwest of Sudbury, while the Murdock River is south of the city near Alban.

Blue Green algae can cause skin irritation and make people sick if they ingest it.

The blooms are pea-green, give off a foul smell and are mainly found along the shoreline, but can move around through wind and water action.
