Two Dead, Four Injured After Collision Near Point Au Baril

A multiple vehicle collision on Highway 69 has left two dead and four injured.

Around 2 pm yesterday OPP responded to the crash just south of Point Au Baril where a northbound pick-up truck attempted to pass two camper trucks and was forced to swerve to miss a southbound SUV.

The SUV then hit the northbound camper head on, and the two occupants of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the pick-up truck and two from the camper truck were taken to hospital and treated with non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP continues to investigate and will release names once next of kin is notified.
