NEO Kids

One year ago the North Eastern Ontario Centre for Kids(NEO Kids) moved into it’s new facility at Health Sciences North, and today they celebrate their one year anniversary.

NEO Kids provides specialized pediatric outpatient care for kids who do not need to be admitted to hospital for all of Northeastern Ontario.

Two guest speakers were on hand including Jessica Grenier(shown above), parent of a patient at NEO Kids, who talked about the struggles before and the positives after NEO Kids got it’s own building.

The facility now has 20 specialized clinics and services that cut down on travel time for many families who were forced to go elsewhere.

While the facility has been a success there is a need to grow, so at the birthday party HSN showed off plans for a 40 thousand foot expansion to NEO Kids.

Manager of NEO kids Keri Shewchuk says demand for services at the facility is expected to rise 20 to 40 percent over the next decade.
