OutOfColdShelter

Despite the hot summer weather right now, Sudbury is looking towards the upcoming winter.

The city re-partnered with the Salvation Army to run the Out-of the-Cold Shelter program from November this year until April 2016.

This past winter was the first full season for the facility and Coordinator of Shelter and Homelessness Programs, Gail Spencer says it helped a lot of clients.

An average of 36 clients stayed overnight…and a total of four thousand visits were recorded over the five month period.

The Out of the Cold Shelter at 200 Larch street provides 36 cots for the local vulnerable population to have a warm place to sleep away from the cold weather.

The facility will open for the winter November 1st.
