First Responders

The need for blood is year round but supplies are put to the test in the summer months.

Sudbury First Responders aided in the blood collection effort as they partnered with the Canadian Blood Services for the Sirens for Life campaign.

Dennis Melanson with Sudbury EMS was one of many first responders out to donate at the clinic on Barrydowne Road earlier today.

He says they know first hand how badly CBS needs blood.

Assistant Deputy Fire Chief, Jesse Oshell hopes this will set an example for the rest of the community.

CBS has a goal of 50 units of blood from first responders and anyone can make an appointment by using the GiveBlood App or by visiting www.blood.ca
