Adult Volunteers Needed For Camp Quality Northern Ontario

A summer camp for children affected by cancer needs more volunteers due to growth over the past few years.

Camp Quality Northern Ontario is putting out a call for adult volunteers to spend one-on-one time with the campers who’ll be at the week-long camp next month.

The camp is located near Monetville, on the west arm of Lake Nipissing.

For every camper there is an adult companion and there’s expected to be 80 young kids at the Northern Ontario camp this year.

According to Media Coordinator Matt Harris, that’s almost double the amount from four years ago.

That’s why organizers are looking for more volunteers.

Harris says many volunteers return year-after-year, but due to the increasing number of children who participate they always need more.

Anyone interested in volunteering must be available for the Volunteer Training Session this Saturday (June 13) at the Holiday Inn in Sudbury, as well as camp week July 11-17th.
