A home owner played a big part in catching a break and enter suspect.

Last night around 8 o’clock, the owner of a home on Albany Street saw a man breaking into his garage.

As he called 9-1-1, the 62-year old confronted the crook and along with the help of an off-duty police officer, held the suspect down until the responding officers arrived on scene.

The suspect had property from five other break-ins in his possession and is now facing 17 break and enter related charges.

The 30-year old suspect, who had a warrant out for his arrest, was also charged with being in possession of $2,000 worth of drugs.

More charges are expected to be laid.
