Everyone can make a difference in the world…even youth.

450 Grades 4 to 8 students from six French Catholic schools in Sudbury gathered for a large motivating rally this morning, to mark “We Day”.

Teacher Mélanie Leblanc from host school, École St Denis, says her 22 Grade 7 & 8 students organized the event which included speakers, music and positive messages.

Grade 7 student Sebastian says their class has raised $3,000 of the $5,000 needed to help pay for a water well in India.

Danika, also a Grade 7 student at St Denis hopes the visiting students were influenced by their message.

The “We Day” movement is meant to inspire and motivate youth to change the world and help others.

It encourages youth to be socially responsible…beginning with small local changes and moving towards international initiatives.
