Fifteen charities will vie for a chance at as much as $10,000 for the third annual “100-Strong” campaign in Greater Sudbury.

According to organizer, Anna Maria Barsanti, over 100 people will gather at Tom Davies Square tonight, each bringing $100 to add to the pot.

Five charities will randomly be chosen to present to the crowd on why their organization should receive the money.

After the presentation everyone who registered will vote on the winner to receive the money.

Barsanti, says the final dollar total will depend on how many people show up to the event.

As of 8am Wednesday 81 people had registered to give $100 and vote.

Barsanti encourages everyone to come out tonight….and says your don’t need to be invited.

Registration start at 6:30pm in council chambers.

She got the idea for 100 Strong from a book “Be the Miracle:50 Lessons for Making the Impossible Possible” by Regina Brett.

Barsanti loved the idea because it was simple and helps make an impact in Sudbury.
