It was a scary wake-up call for a Naughton resident this morning who woke up to find a masked intruder in his home.

Greater Sudbury Police say the suspect was in the process of stealing items from the home on Simon Lake Road, when he was confronted by the homeowner, around 5am.

The suspect fled outside, but the resident chased after him and tackled the intruder to the ground.

That’s when the suspect pulled out an edged weapon and then ran away.

Police are now looking for a male suspect who was around 17-years-old, stood six feet tall and had brownish-blond short hair.

During the struggle the intruder was injured to his face or head and left blood behind at the scene.
