Earth Hour

By Stew Kernan

Tonight, millions of people around the world will turn off their lights between 8:30 and 9:30 to mark Earth Hour.

The global event is now in its eighth year.

Earth Hour is the world’s largest environmental movement that involves more than 162 countries and 7,000 cities worldwide.

WWF started Earth Hour in 2007 to unite the world and make a stand against climate change.

Sudbury Hydro says last year they saw a drop in hydro demand of six mega-watts or 3% during Earth Hour.
