World Down Syndrome Day

Today marks the 10th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day as celebrations took place around the world including here in Sudbury.

The Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury held it’s first ever pancake breakfast at College Boreal, for all of it’s 55 members and their families.

President of the Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury, Julie Contini says all it takes is the community to get behind their cause.

Contini says there are still obstacles to overcome, and there may always be but people with Down Syndrome should be included in everything from school to workplaces.

The goal of the day is fight for people with down syndrome to be able to enjoy full and equal rights, both as children and adults.
